Migrating a Static Website to a Wordpress Theme Blog

I have been rather busy lately as I was re-strategizing some of my online marketing plans for this year 2007.

I have actually got some help from my friend, Steven Wong to help me migrate my main static website to a Wordpress theme blog.

Why did I decide to migrate from static page to to Wordpress theme blog? It is because I have found that there are certain limitations that I am not able to do with a static page. I have also discovered using Wordpress theme blogs are much more versatile.

Also I plan to focus on offline training for newbies or beginners and concentrate more on affiliate marketing for the year.

Where to find Web Designers?

"Where do I start looking for web designers to design a simple Banner for my new web site in Malaysia?"

This is a pretty good question for an internet marketer in Malaysia.

There are only 2 alternatives here. One is to learn and do it yourself via Adobe Photoshop CS. The other is to outsource to a web designer in Malaysia.

However, I encountered some challenge here.

Most web designers are ego-driven or monetary-driven without the thought of offering to help their potential clients. Especially web designers based in Malaysia.

Most of the time, the cost of getting a new web site designed cost between RM500.00 (USD139)to RM2,000.00 (USD556) for min. 5 pages to 10 pages. Inclusive of Banners, overall look of the web site, internal linking and navigation bars.

Then I encoutered some freelance web designers who could design simple mini web sites for much lower fees than these rates quoted to me and willing to help me out.

As a matter of fact, I can buy online from any US based template web sites for a mere USD55.00 min. for a professional looking web site in whatever format I fancied.

And there are some web designers who specialise in eCovers only and they would gladly create these mini sites for under USD130.00

So I would suggest you do some of your own research when looking for reliable, dependable web designers in Malaysia.

I learned Photoshop CS but I find the work tedious as I prefer to work on my web site instead and leave the web design to web designers. So I would rather outsource them out. And if they are good, I recommend them to other internet marketers.

Inventory.overture.com - Keyword Selector Tool

Has Yahoo really taken Inventory.Overture.com keyword selector tool out of the cyber space?

What are webmasters and other users going to be using next to select keywords?

I stumbled upon this message of concerned from a webmaster site. This is a Buzz for all webmasters and users alike in the world. What keyword research tool are they going to use next? Will the next tool be user-friendly?

So I went into Yahoo and located Search Marketing immediately and did my own research.

This is the path to follow. It seems Yahoo has changed the presentation format for keyword selector tool.

Yahoo main page > Search Marketing > Sponsored Search > click on Get Started Now > select Self Serve (with No Service Fee ie. it is Free!)

Just follow the 5 Steps like they said but you do not have to go through all the way.

What is interesting is when you type in your keywords, the search results will come out in Bars. The maximum number of bars are 5. So that means that particular keyword you keyed in has the "most number of searches".

Drawback is that Yahoo do not tell you which month it appears on, unlike previous Inventory.Overture.com

Well! I got through till Stage 4 when it asked me for my budget for bidding on the selected keywords and I stopped.

I was only keen on the keyword selector tool section.

We have to say Good bye to Inventory.Overture.com and welcome the new Yahoo Search Marketing keyword selector tool in this New Year of 2007 then.

How to optimize your website for search engines?

This is a good question for beginners and amateurs to internet marketing.

"I have been having a website for 6 months and I have been promoting some affiliate products. But I have not been making any sales from this website. I have not done any kind of promotion for this website either. I tried pay-per-click but it was not effective. What shall I do next?"

a. Putting up a website is an easy process. First find a product, think about a name for your domain and purchase this domain name. Next, find a web designer to design the website for you or buy a template and get the web designer to put in all the links.

If its an affiliate product, just get the affiliate code and put this link with your affiliate code in your blog or website to link directly to your affiliate program.

b. Submit your website to all the major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo. Read their Terms and Conditions as each operate on different algorithmns ie. different rules and regulation. Then wait.

P/S-Make sure you already have content in your website before you submit your site to search engines, at Submit Your Site, in major search engines.

c. Go and analyse your website's statistics via Google Analytics. You can plug in Google generated HTML codes in your website to track these statistic number.

d. You want to check if your pages in your website have been indexed or spidered by any of the search engines, especially Google.

Check them in Google SiteMap/Webmaster Tools.

You will get a report from Google telling you which pages have been indexed and which has not been. Problem may be from no internal links and so on.

e. Next, check for search engine optimization or search engine promotion. This means you are required to promote your website in related product category in directories.

Perform directory submission at this stage and other link building exercises.

Note: This is a long and time-consuming process. You may only see results in page rank from 2 weeks or 3 to 12 months, depending on what type of seo strategies used.

By this time, your website would be regarded as an older site that ranks rather highly, with traffic that runs into thousands daily and sales $$ also drops in daily for you.

Google Sitemap

Today in my search engine optimization course, we covered Google Sitemap.

What happens is Google's robots or spiders will go around websites that has been indexed either manually or by software submission.

When these spiders visit the website, they will go around the Home page and other linking pages to index any changes made in the content within the page.

It would be much easier if we help these spiders to go and visit this page that is called SiteMap of your website. In other words, the spiders just required to visit your website's SiteMap to index all the pages within this website, so it saves them time crawling all the pages in your site.

When spiders 'crawl' your website, it may be slowed down the loading processing time of calling your site up from the server.

This is an advantage of having a website with SiteMap.

File name extension would be - /sitemap.html

To check if Google has crawled to your site, check it out at Google SiteMap from this path or via Google Webmaster Tool at:-

http://www.google.com/webmasters/

A better way would also to create a /sitemap.xml to upload to your root directory in your server.

This week I am attending a Search Engine Optimization course (or search engine promotion) and this course is given by a search engine optimization Indian expert who originates from New Delhi, India.

This SEO Malaysia course that I am attending in Kuala Lumpur was given at no charge as a courtesy from a good and generous friend of mine, Paul.

On day 1, which was yesterday, this SEO expert, Shiv Kumar exposes to us the concept behind 'web designing' and the work of a web designer, in general. He explains that during this initial stage of building a website for a client, we should start to build search engine optimize friendly pages on the working website.

Of course, prior to this, as a SEO expert, he has to sit down with the client to understand the needs and requirements of his client before he goes into the web design development.

Thereafter an agreement has been established between the SEO expert and the client, a website will be designed and built.

Web development would be considered 2nd stage, where the website go into further development. Internal and external links has to be established, checked and tested amongst other processes.

The 3rd stage and final stage comes after this, which is to optimize or promote this website and it is where the expertise of a search engine optimizer comes in.

This SEO expert has explained clearly that many website owners who are not familiar with pay-per-click or PPC, would be spending lots of wasted money that was not effective in driving traffic to their website.

Therefore, search engine optimization or SEO is a more efficient way to optimize websites via natural raking and hopefully to appear in the first 10 pages from the browser search in Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines.

Search engine optimization intervention by a SEO expert is necessary for any websites which are between 6 months to a year old and for site owners who are not seeing monetary returns for their current websites, are most appropriate.

Bangkok's Way of Double Parking in Shopping Malls

There were a number of Thai practices that impresses me but there was one particular practice that truly out beat the rest.

It is double parking in busy shopping malls over the weekends.

In our country when we park our cars, it is only normal to park side by side to other cars and having another car at the back of our car. This is to ensure the front or back bay car parked can drive in or out with ease.

In Bangkok, they practice the same way except that other cars can park in front of you with their car facing a one way direction. Either facing right or left. And you have to leave your car's gear on Neutral.

Why is this?

It is because when you leave your car gear on Neutral, car owners can push to move your car front or backwards to enable them to get out of their car park space at the end of their shopping spree.

This method is practice because there aren't enough car park spaces in all shopping malls in Bangkok over the weekend and this is a perfect solution.

And I found Thais to be very patient and cooperative with this system of parking their cars.

No one vents their anger or showed impatience when they need to get their car out of the way.

I do not even see scratches on their cars.

This practice certainly impresses me!

Back from Holiday in Bangkok

I am back from my year-end holiday in Bangkok, feeling totally exhausted.

Why?

Because there was much walking around in the heat of the sun and pollution level in Bangkok from the streets were high.

However, I discovered most Thais do not speak or write in English and there were not many internet cafes around. At least not where I was staying at on Phaya Thai Road at Pathumwan Resort condominium.

I have also discovered many businesses in Thailand do not own websites and broadband facilities in their home or in business is low in penetration.

Trip to Bangkok

World Internet Summit 2006, Kuala Lumpur

The World Internet Summit 2006 is here again in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Only this time, they have some new speakers and some veteran speakers. Some of the speakers are Willie Crawford, Stephen Pierce, Patric Chan, Jo-Han Mok, Ewen Chia etc. It was held for 4 days starting from Fri. 17 till Mon. 20th Nov. 2006 at the Park Royal Hotel.

This event was organised once again by Success Resources.

I popped by WIS 2006 to visit some of my IM friends like Gobala Krishnan, Stephen Wong and LaiYin Koe and we will be sharing resources and tips.

This year's event was highly charged as Patric Chan demonstrated a live demo. called the Internet Challenge. He sent out a list of products to his namelist and within 3 days, he collected over US$20,000+ from this marketing campaign. It also demonstrated the power of joint ventures with other internet marketers.

I have just attended a 2 and a 1/2 day Derek Gehl's bootcamp organized by Wealth Mentors at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (15 - 17 Sept. 2006). It was attended by 142 participants in all.

Derek Gehl was the sole speaker throughout the internet marketing bootcamp and he was awesome. He brought with him 2 other assistants who are successful internet marketers themselves from Canada to be with us. They acted as Derek's supportive role in answering alot of questions we have about internet marketing strategies from newbies and experienced marketers.

I was so pleased that I did not miss this event. It was well worth attending.

Derek gave us very good workable Step-by-Step strategies covering how to find niche markets, research into keywords, designing websites that sells, email marketing and its importance, affiliate programs, ebooks, pay-per-click search engines, action plans, traffic strategies, website make-overs, eBay and blogging, RSS and Podcasting.

All in all, it was definitely informative, eye-opener, loaded with tactics, internet marketing strategies, tips, steps and the how-to.

Best of all, he introduced the use of Google Analytics to the students. It is a free tool offered by Google to track any web sites or page

Online Seminar, Education, E Learning, Online Learning but has anyone every heard of online seminar on video?

When I was an active working adult, I was always looking for ways to improve myself, that is, personal development. I spend some time and money to attend seminars presented by world class speakers like Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins and so on. Experience from listening to these world class speakers at live seminars is an experience.

However, most of the time, I would not have the time nor the permitted budget allowed for me to attend many more of these live seminars be it internet marketing, seminars, training seminars or financial planning seminar.

An obvious solution to this is the availability of online seminar video, where I am given the option to listen and watch world class speakers and masters on video 24/7 at any time and any place I want.

Fishing in Pulau Ketam, anyone?

My 6 year old son wanted to try out fishing so we took him out to Pulau Ketam. We opted to stay out overnight at one of the fishing farm's hut that floats in the swamp.

The journey involves taking a KTM from Subang to Klang. Steps off and take a boat to Pulau Ketam. Contacted agency to take us to the fish farm by another boat.

Spent the night there. Evening breeze were so cool that we planned to sleep outside and not in our rooms.

My son caught a 'sting-ray' from the bottom of the bed and he was estatic about it. He has never forgotten that experience of sitting on the deck with his fishing rod for 4 hours. (Normally, he would not be able to sit still.)

Eventually we caught another 'silver' fish.

7. Paste Google Adsense on your page + Google Referrer and + Google Adwords

10. Then drive in traffic and wait for the 'checks' to come in.

Finally! My Website Went Live! But Not Without Hitches!

After 2 months of hard work, time and effort, my website http://www.onelibidus.com is finally live. Promotes Men Health related issues.

From 20th May till 8th July, I struggled through the layout plans of my website. As I started off without a plan initially, the work was tough as I had to make many amendments towards the launch of it.

So read further for details on the process on How I Did It on my own, within 1.5 months only.

Step 1: Take up a Microsoft Frontpage course/learn it hands-on. Takes you 7-10 days.

Step 2: Decide what you want to promote with the website. Find a product with Affiliate program. Register with them. You have got a product to promote.

Step 3: Register a Domain Name and get a Hosting (also to generate HTML scripts).

Step 4: Start to build your very 1st own website from scratch. Otherwise, take the short cut - get a template (you know what I mean - just 'select all', then 'copy' and 'paste').

Step 5: Plan out what you want your website to do. Tips - Ask yourself what do you require your customers to do when they come to your webpage. Is it an Opt-In page? If so, you would require scripts for the Opt-In box.

Step 6: Write your Sales Letter/Intro. page. I used a software to generate a 'sales letter' page and made amendments to it to suit my product.

Step 7: What are you offering? Any Free Bonuses you want to include? If yes - work on the Bonuses. I wanted to give out relevant ebooks of my product to my customers to take away, also as a Viral Marketing tool.

Step 8: I worked with my eCover team to come up with 3 eCovers for 3 e-book titles.

Step 9: I finished the general layout of the webpage. Its time for me to insert in Images, Photo and Links and Scripts. Tip - make sure you named your files correctly with the proper extension, like htm, index.html, lower case letters or upper case letters.

Step 10: Create files for Contact, Privacy, Anti Spam, Disclaimer Policy, Copyright, Subscribe TQ, Unsubscribe message.

Step 10: Work with your Hosting webmaster on how to use cPanel X. Set-up email, how to use File Manager to load webpages and all files relevant to this website and Autoresponder messages.

Step 11: Plan out your Autoresponder messages. Save all your Autoresponder emails in your hard disk as back-up.

Step 12: At Internet Explorer browser or whatever browser you are using, type in your website. Tests out all Pop-Ups, if you are using them. Tests out Opt-Ins and its Links. Tests links in TQ page, Contact page. Tests out your Autoresponder and its messages and links in them.

Step 13: Make all the amendments required after Testing every links on your Main Webpage/index.html page using Frontpage (not via cPanel Editor).

Step 14: Upload a fresh new amended webapge to your hosting to replace the 'old' main page/index (and don't forget to re-name it as 'index.html' to go live). Then re-test and re-check all the links. If all works to your liking, then your website is called completed and ready finally!

Time and time again, you may wish to add in a Tell-A-Friend script or Close This Page or Print This page script.

Again, repeat the process again, but making amendments via Frontpage on the Main Page/index page and upload it to File Manager, re-name it to 'index,html' to go live!

An old priest visited an old Persian farmer, named Ali Hafed. The priest told Ali that 'a diamond is a congealed drop of sunlight'. Scientifically this is true, that a diamond is an actual deposit of carbon from the sun. Ali asked the priest, "Will you tell me where I can find diamonds?"

The priest said, "Well, if you will find a river that runs through white sands, between high mountains, in those white sands you will always find diamonds."

"I don't believe there is any such river." "Oh yes, there are plenty of them. All you have to do is to go and find them, and then you have them." So Ali sold his farm and set out far to Palestine, then Europe, and at last when his money was all spent and he was in rags and poverty, he stood at the shore of Barcelona, in Spain and cast himself into that incoming tide, and sank beneath its foaming crest, never to rise in this life again.

This has been my personal experience.

This is what I have discovered after attending a number of internet marketing seminar and bootcamp.

These are some of the mistakes many new startups/newbies make when they embark upon learning or building an internet marketing business, from fresh.

Actual work starts from attending at least 1 internet marketing seminar, enrolling into a course or go to a bootcamp.

IT’S WHAT YOU LEARN AFTER YOU KNOW IT ALL. THAT COUNTS MOST!

The speakers told us that there will be only 3% out of 100 attendees of any seminars they have spoken at, will take Action to implement what they have learned. That will be 97% who will give up along the way. How true! I have made this observation and found that to be true.

I volunteered to set up Yahoo! Groups so team members who wish to learn continueswith the 'high energy' to implement their ideas and projects and support each other. Initially all team members contribute their thoughts, but after some time, many do not even bother to answer your messages you post online.

Many just gave up when they stumble upon small challenges. Some did not bother to find out how to start. Well! I continue to pursue till this day.

Of course I stumbled and fall along the learning months but I picked myself up again and told myself, I must not let this opportunity go by without even giving it a try, at least once.

Many newbies did not do the initial 'research' to find out more about internet marketing. Many do not even spend the time to surf on the internet and find out about 'internet marketing' from Yahoo, Google or MSN. They had no idea what 'internet marketing' is all about. Can you beat that?

The first thing for anyone who wish to learn this new business opportunity in 'internet marketing' is to find out more about it. Be prepare for it by researching on the subject. Then attend at least 1 bootcamp or seminar.

After the seminar or bootcamp, go and do more research from the internet, books, subscribe to some of the websites online e-zines and newsletters. Opt-in a number of 'guru' internet marketer webpage and see what they do to convince you to part with your money.

80% of my time is spent on research on the internet. I spent time listening to Audio Bonuses included in these seminars and bootcamps. If I do not understand a certain term - I will look it up. I read all the Bonus printed materials. I participate in Blogs and see what other people write on and I learn to follow instructions. This is how I set-up my own Blog! This process of learning takes TIME....

My knowledge certainly did not come overnight. I have been doing this in the last 6 months (I gave up from Jan. till Mar. 2006).

My stumbling block was I did not know How to Create my 1st Webpage! But I overcame that, as I asked my fellow attendees who were more experienced and they helped me out. Learning comes with experience too, I believe.

The 'More I Learn' and implement my 1st project, the 'More I Earn', in knowledge and experience.

So don't give up on your first few stumbling block!

AIMS Internet Bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I counted myself lucky this weekend because I attended a 2-day seminar at the AIMS Internet Bootcamp (Asian Internet Marketing) at Federal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from 20-21 May 2006.

The speakers were really good. Do you want to know who they were? They were Alex Mandossian together with Armand Morin and we have been lucky to get them to speak to us for 2 full days in Malaysia, teaching us all about the different 'techniques' to use in search engine optimisation, building internet business online without a website, 1-minute website creation, how to automate your business, product creation from 'thin air', traffic generation strategies, traffic conversion strategies, copywriting secrets and eBay business setup.

This has been our first day at the seminar and I must say, I have learned so much on this 1 day versus reading internet marketing books and researching on the internet for hours. It was definitely worth every dollar I paid!

We were taught 'tips' and 'strategies' on the various topics and were also shown how to do it live at the seminar via broadband connection.

All I can say for today is I am mentally exhausted but feeling excited at the same time.

I have earn sales on my website which sold computer hardware but the profit margins there are too meagre to shout at. What Alex Mandossian and Armand Morin has shown us or myself personally, is that we can make 'unlimited' amount of money on the internet at anytime we want from where we want it, provided we follow the 'system'.

I am confident that I can double my income in the coming months, to demonstrate that their 'system' works.

Current Learning Experience in Internet Marketing

Alex Mandossian shared with us this example recently at 1 of the previews to AIMS Internet Bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He gave an example of a Bamboo tree, a strong and resilient plant that grows throughout Asia.

How long does it take for a bamboo to see light, from the ground?

In fact, it takes 2-3 years for a bamboo shoot to see light at all, through the soil its grown in. The 1st bamboo shoot remains hidden underground, away from sunlight for 2-3 years. Thereafter, as soon as they see sunlight, they will grow 6 inches on a daily basis.

This is a good example of what a new entrant into internet marketing is. I mean, the journey that is required to walk through, for a beginner or newbie.

In the 1st year

It may be tough for a newbie to start off when we are not IT-savy. It took me 6 months just to read up most writeups about internet marketing. It took another month to learn Microsoft Frontpage to create the 1st webpage. Then its a few more months into looking for a product to sell - product development. This is the hard part!

Getting a hosting company and the webpage to go live is peanut. Plenty of freeware to help with that ( but don't rely on this too much). The next thing is testing out your Sales Letter on your webpage and the price of your product.

2nd year

Adopt a new marketing strategy, that is to go into Affiliate Marketing and market other people's product for awhile. You will probably be earning enough to make a living and work from home, by this time.

3rd year

You may have a number of websites set-up already and earning enough to make US$4,000 and above monthly ...... Who knows! Look out for joint-ventures and partners to leverage on each other. If you are good, you may get invited to be a JV partner.

Many internet marketing gurus make loads of promises of making you think you can earn plenty in your 1st year. In fact, there may be some truth in it for some technie IT savy people, but for most other non-IT savy (90%) of the population, they may end up getting more confuse after the end of a seminar.

So allow time for an internet marketing business to grow from strength to strength. Take this advice from Alex who, in my opinion, is a an honest, reliable, practical and down-to-earth man.

This is the type of "mentor" that any newbie or beginner should seek out to learn about internet marketing. As he says :

There are 3 kinds of 'mentor' out there.

1st kind - teach it but never done it at all

2nd kind - teach it and do it continuously, even in present day

3rd kind - teach it and do not plan to do it anymore and not ever again

So beware of who is pulling the sheeps wool over your head!

I have probably found a genuine 'guru' who is of the 2nd type from above.

Fortunately for me (as I have enrolled into his coming Internet Bootcamp in Kuala Lumpur).

As a reminder, you need to make some sacrifice in initial investment to attend seminars and boot camps to learn about internet marketing and spend plenty of time online to conduct research.

As Alex Mandossian always say "The more one learns, the more one earns!"

Reason Why Internet marketing

I would like to share the experience of learning to be an internet marketer, since the inception of that thought since August 2005, and the reasons behind it.

At 20s of age : graduated from university in the 1980s, looking for employment was the 1st thing in mind. Scouted around, send out resumes and attended interviews. After landing a job, a steady flow of income comes monthly. And the partying began. Became bored after a number of years, and went to work overseas to gain exposure in 1 of the cities in the Pearl of the Orient.

At 30s of age : age seemed to be catching up and began having the feeling of being maternal. So went out looking for a life partner, got married and build a family together and had children. And continued working for an international company.

At 40s of age : Work got caught up, got stressed daily, bosses were unhappy and so was I. Quitting was the only option. Spending time with the kids sounds great. Moved to a larger house that came with larger expenses. Soon, as the kids grew, boredom sets in. A hunt is on again seeking out a outlet avenue to consider working from home as the next option. Hated daily commuting in heavy traffic jams, travelling 3 days weekly to meet sales target, politics at the office was a thing of the past, at least for me. Searched around and attended previews to MLM, surfed the internet and joined Chat Rooms.

As an introvert, preference was given to an option that requires - less travelling time, no meetings with clients/customers, based at home, use of the computer and a broadband connection was all the basis for this option.

From October 2005, the decision to be an Internet Marketer was on! But how to start to become one and how to start an online business? Learn from a mentor, buy up courses and the learning journey began.

Throughout this journey, in a matter of only months, success was like 'a light at the end of the tunnel' and yet so far to reach. This was in May 2006.

A friend shared a quote from Thomas Edison... "It's not 999 failures that I've gone through to create the bulb successfully at the 1,000th attempt... It's in fact, a 1,000 steps process that I've gone through to create thebulb!"

See the difference? Don't give up at the sight of failure, but continue as these are just steps you need to complete to be success at the end!

Perhaps, God heard my prayers and I had a chance to a preview talk given by Alex Mandossian, a very successful internet marketing 'guru' who now lives in California, USA. I had read much about his work and strategies and are also aware that many other internet marketers from around the world attends his seminar on a yearly basis.

So, my learning process has just been spiced up again and ready to go, especially after learning Frontpage to create my 1st webpage of my own from scratch.

Learning Curves of Microsoft Frontpage for my 1st webpage

I have been working around the Microsoft Frontpage manual for 1 month in March and have not been very successful with getting round to creating my very 1st webpage to be published. The manual is wordy, like any other manuals.

Anyway, I managed to get round this problem as I had been lucky. I contacted a friend of mine on the isle of Penang and he told me, they will be organising a 1-day training course early April using Frontpage specifically designed for newbies to internet marketing. I thought it was a good idea to attend it but somehow, other activities cropped up on that day. In the end, I managed to get a distant-learning copy of the course material, and ended up working around the exercises given.

Low and behold! I managed to create my 1st webpage with music inserted as well as photo. I was so pleased I gave my testimony to this friend of mine. I was impressed with the course material as it the instructions were easy to follow and my 1st webpage was completed within 2 days. What a record!

Internet Marketing Workshop - Profit in 90 days or Less!

I have been busy lately preparing for Patric Chan's 2-day workshop in Penang on 26 Nov. 2005.
He shared with us the 5-step System which he used to get started on the internet and to profit from it within the next 90 days or less!

After attending the workshop, here are my reviews which I have also given him.

He is the one and only Malaysian that I feel qualifies to teach internet marketing as he offers easy step-by-step guide to starting and building our own little internet marketing business. His workbook is 'simple', easy to follow and he made us write our own notes! I made quite a number of notes, including his 'secrets' which I am unable to share online. In the workshop, he gave us so much attention that he made sure each and everyone of us understood the concepts he shared, before moving on to the next topic. He has patience (with this 'slow' newbie group). I was glad I watched the DVD videos and CD-ROM before attending the workshop, as it sure helps me in absorbing all the information.

Now I feel more confident to take the next step, i.e. turn it into Action and make it work, despite future challenges along the way but I will not give up! Its a golden opprtunity to make money online, right from my own house, with my laptop/computer sitting at home or from anywhere else in the world, for that matter. Today, I have also received the package of "Think and Grow Rich" book by Napoleon Hill, brought to us by Ted Ciuba, an Internet Marketing consultant in the US. Oh! Before I forget, I will also be attending another bombastic 1-day workshop at end of this week. Its going to be a 'copywriting' workshop entitled "Double Results Internet Copywriting Workshop" by Jo-Han Mok, a Singaporean.

Jo-Han Mok is renowned for creating effective sales letter copy that brings in sales in 1 day! I am not going to miss this no matter what. Guess what? He was an apprentice of Dr Joe Vitale. Wow! And its going to be held in Penang again. This time, my family will get to go with me to this island to enjoy themselves over this weekend.

Why the Name "Acres of Diamond"

Since setting up this blog and sent to some friends, the comment I received was "what is the meaning of Acres of Diamond" and what are you trying to say?

Sorry readers! I did not do a good job in explaining.

What I meant by "Acres of Diamond" for me is - there are plenty of money-making opportunities out there in this world and all we have to do, is to go out there and look for it.

I used to work in a 9-to-5 JOB, got up early in the morning, drove to work, got stuck in the traffic jam, returned from work, rest, eat, sleep and this daily routine was repeated over a number of years. Then I decided 2 years ago to stop working and went out to look for money-making options, by attending previews to options trading, property, selling online etc.

It was not until I stumbled upon a stranger at 1 of these previews that told me to take Risk! And so I did. I went on to enrol into 1 of Jay Abraham's Marketing program (Aug '05) and came out with new hopes that I can use his strategies in my current online business.

Now, this lead to another seminar which I attended. The World Internet Summit (Oct '05)where 12 experienced internet speakers shares their system and success stories that had made them to what they are today.

Since then, I have been doing daily research and reading up on internet marketing, viral marketing, direct response marketing, affiliate marketing, you name it all. From all these effort, I know the day will come for me to put all that I have learned of marketing on the internet to Action and make at least a dollar (US$1.00) online.

"ACRES OF DIAMOND" in the world of Internet Marketing

I have been feeling down in the past weeks. I questioned myself if there is any truth in the belief that the minute you put up your own website and put up some products to sell online would make you rich instantly is certainly Not True!

I visited a friend in HK end of March 2005 and since they have an ongoing business in selling Fujitech brand of computer peripherals, so they invited me to set up an online business selling their products for them. No sooner thereafter, I discovered that having a Website online and selling products via the Internet does not automatically mean you have an Internet business that is going to bring in income. Plus the fact that I bought a DIY website plus hosting, which does not come with a Mailing List plug-in, etc ...

Then I toyed with the idea of distributing their products (which I have imported in myself) in an auction portal. You know what? I received 200 over responses from this auction portal, with a number of serious buyers in a matter of 10 days. Wow!! Not great Sales but I am selling!!

You know how that made me feel? Ecstatic! Exhilirating!

Now, I wanted to more ambitious. So I signed up the "Billion Dollar Marketing Weekend" hosted by Jay Abraham himself (August 2005) where the business community, both young and old who came from all over the world! I told myself "I can do it!"

In October 2005, I attended my first internet marketing seminar, "World Internet Summit" and you know what? I have found the path to Success (or at least, its in the process).

I took a 2nd step and got myself a 'mentor' from one of the better-known Internet Marketer. Now I got myself 2 Mentors (one from the USA & in Malaysia).

So I said Goodbye to a JOB! Say Hello to Living your Dreams, Whenever you want, Wherever you want at Anytime.
